PACT Act Progress at Risk: VA Plans Job Cuts Amid Surge in Veteran Enrollment

Since the PACT Act was signed into law, over 796,000 veterans have enrolled in VA health care—a 37% increase compared to previous periods. This surge highlights the critical importance of expanded benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances.

Compounding these concerns, the Department of Veterans Affairs has announced plans to reduce staff by 15%, equating to approximately 80,000 job cuts, as part of a restructuring initiative to return the VA to its 2019 staffing levels. This move has drawn significant backlash from the veteran community, with groups like Veterans of Foreign Wars mobilizing against the cuts, fearing they will severely impact veteran care.

Our fight isn't over. Burn Pits 360 remains committed to holding lawmakers accountable and ensuring that every veteran receives the care and benefits they were promised. We will not back down. Stay informed, stay engaged, and stand with us in this fight.
