Wyatt Ranches Foundation awards $100,000 grant to Burn Pits 360

ROBSTOWN, Texas — Burn Pits 360, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit veterans organization, today announced a $100,000 gift from the Wyatt family to establish the Oscar Wyatt Legacy of Valor Fund, which will expand direct assistance, suicide prevention programming and community education for veterans and first responders across Texas and beyond.
The gift is deeply personal for Burn Pits 360.
Founded by families who experienced the consequences of toxic exposure, Burn Pits 360 has spent two decades turning grief into action, standing with veterans, caregivers, clinicians and lawmakers to push the nation to recognize what many were experiencing in silence.
That work helped shape a historic turning point in America’s promise to those who served: the PACT Act.
“On behalf of Burn Pits 360, thank you to the Wyatt family for believing in this mission at a level that changes what’s possible,” said Rosie Torres, executive director and co-founder of Burn Pits 360. “This fund honors Mr. Oscar Wyatt’s legacy of courage and stewardship, and it strengthens a movement that helped our country finally say, through the PACT Act, that toxic exposure injuries are real, and veterans deserve care, dignity and answers.”
The Oscar Wyatt Legacy of Valor Fund honors the courage, service and lifelong stewardship of Oscar Wyatt. Burn Pits 360 previously recognized the Wyatt family at its Gala of Valor with the Oscar Wyatt Legacy of Valor Award.
LEGACY GIFT SUPPORTS LOCAL ACTION AND NATIONAL CHANGE
Burn Pits 360 provides direct support in communities and advocates nationally on toxic exposure, an effort it said helped elevate the issue and contributed to passage and implementation of the PACT Act.
While the PACT Act represents a historic step forward, Burn Pits 360 said implementation remains urgent and families still need help navigating care, claims and the daily realities of toxic exposure-related illness.
“This is what the Wyatt family is making possible,” Torres said. “Not just a program. Not just a moment. But sustained impact — local, visible support for families right now, and continued national momentum so no veteran is left behind.”
FUND WILL EXPAND LOCAL IMPACT
In 2025, Burn Pits 360 reported the following support and outreach:
-
386 Military Toxic Exposure Guides distributed
-
208 people served directly at local community events, reaching more than 1,050 through outreach
-
$43,264 delivered in direct grants and financial assistance, including support such as oxygen concentrators and urgent needs

NEXT 12 MONTHS
Over the next 12 months, the Oscar Wyatt Legacy of Valor Fund will support initiatives aligned with the Wyatt family’s priorities of veterans, first responders and education, with a special focus on:
-
Warrior Mill (Suicide Prevention Program): A local veteran- and first responder-led program using peer connection, purposeful work and creative expression. Through woodworking and hands-on projects, participants build community, process trauma and rediscover purpose beyond service.
-
Warrior Hope Network: Support for veterans and first responders, including assistance for medical equipment and treatment, expanded education access, and increased community education through printing a new Spanish-language Military Toxic Exposure Guide. The effort also includes direct veteran assistance through Burn Pits 360’s Back 2 School education program and emergency support.
Burn Pits 360 said it welcomed the opportunity to host the Wyatt family at the organization’s Capt. Le Roy Torres Warrior Support Center in Robstown to see the work firsthand and meet veterans, first responders and families impacted by the support.
